This website is educational only. It is not medical advice, does not replace individualized medical evaluation, and should not be used for emergency care.

1. General Educational Information

The information on this website is provided for general educational purposes related to obesity medicine, lifestyle medicine, metabolic health, nutrition, physical activity, medication-assisted weight management, and related wellness services. It is not a diagnosis, treatment plan, prescription, or substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional.

Medical decisions require individualized review of your symptoms, medical history, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, vital signs, labs, prior treatments, contraindications, goals, and preferences.

2. No Physician-Patient Relationship

Viewing this website, reading educational content, using a general contact form, calling the office, or requesting an appointment does not create a physician-patient relationship with Essam Saad, MD or the practice. A physician-patient relationship begins only after the practice accepts you as a patient and a clinician evaluates you through an appropriate in-person or telehealth encounter.

3. Obesity Medicine Is Individualized

Obesity is a chronic, complex, and relapsing medical condition influenced by biology, genetics, medications, sleep, stress, appetite regulation, hormones, comorbidities, mental health, environment, nutrition, physical activity, and social factors. Treatment may include lifestyle intervention, behavioral support, nutrition counseling, physical activity planning, medication, referral for bariatric procedures, or management of related conditions.

No specific result, amount of weight loss, timeline, medication response, or side-effect profile can be guaranteed. Your results may differ from published clinical trials, testimonials, before-and-after images, or averages discussed on this website.

4. Medication Information

This website may discuss prescription medications used in obesity medicine or metabolic care, including but not limited to semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide, phentermine/topiramate, naltrexone/bupropion, orlistat, metformin, topiramate, bupropion, phentermine, and other therapies. References to medications are informational and do not mean a medication is appropriate, available, safe, covered by insurance, or guaranteed to be prescribed for you.

Prescription medication decisions are based on individualized clinician judgment. A clinician may recommend lifestyle treatment without medication, delay medication pending labs or records, choose a different medication, decline to prescribe, discontinue medication, or refer you to another clinician if clinically appropriate.

5. GLP-1 and GIP/GLP-1 Medications

GLP-1 receptor agonists and related medications, including semaglutide and tirzepatide products, may have important benefits for selected patients but also carry risks. Potential concerns may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dehydration, gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, hypoglycemia when combined with certain diabetes medications, kidney injury related to dehydration, medication interactions, peri-procedural considerations, and other adverse effects. Some products include warnings or contraindications for patients with certain personal or family histories, including medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.

These medications require appropriate screening, dosing, follow-up, and monitoring. Do not start, stop, compound, split, mix, share, or change doses of any prescription medication without direction from a licensed clinician.

6. Compounded Medications

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. Compounded medications may be considered only when permitted by law and when a licensed clinician determines that a compounded preparation is medically appropriate for an identified patient.

The practice does not represent that a compounded medication is the same as, identical to, interchangeable with, or superior to an FDA-approved medication. The availability, legal status, pharmacy requirements, formulation, concentration, dosing instructions, and appropriateness of compounded products may change over time. Patients should use only medications obtained from legitimate pharmacies and should promptly report side effects, dosing concerns, or unexpected reactions.

7. Off-Label Use

Some medications discussed in obesity medicine, including metformin or other medications, may be used off-label when a clinician determines that the potential benefits outweigh the risks for a particular patient. Off-label use means the medication is being used in a manner not specifically listed in the FDA-approved labeling. Off-label prescribing is not automatically inappropriate, but it requires individualized discussion, informed decision-making, and monitoring.

8. Nutrition, Exercise, Supplements, and Lifestyle Content

Nutrition, physical activity, sleep, supplement, and lifestyle information on this website is general. It may not be appropriate for people with certain medical conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, diabetes, medication interactions, mobility limitations, or other special circumstances. Consult a qualified clinician before making major changes to diet, exercise, supplements, or medications.

9. Labs, Monitoring, and Follow-Up

Obesity medicine may require baseline and follow-up measurements, laboratory testing, medication reconciliation, side-effect monitoring, blood pressure checks, pregnancy considerations, diabetes monitoring, and coordination with primary care or specialists. Failure to complete recommended follow-up, labs, or monitoring may make it unsafe to start or continue treatment.

10. Testimonials, Images, and Outcome Statements

Any testimonials, patient stories, before-and-after images, or outcome examples are not guarantees. They may not reflect typical results. Individual outcomes depend on many factors, including baseline health, adherence, medication tolerance, follow-up, biology, and comorbid conditions.

11. Emergency and Urgent Symptoms

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department if you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, symptoms of dehydration, chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, severe allergic reaction, signs of stroke, suicidal thoughts, or any other emergency symptom. Do not wait for a website response or portal message.
